31lb Brasenose-One Mirror. [12/12/2011]

Mike Loftus and Andy Bailey had an amazing two night session on B-1 last week; between the two they had an unbelievable 90 runs, landing over 70 of them. They caught loads of twenties, with the biggest three weighing 29lb, 29lb 15oz and 31lb 05oz. All their fish were caught using corn and pellet. This is Andy with a 31lb 05oz mirror.

30lb Hunts Corner Lake Mirror. [13/12/2011]

Clive Turner from Didcot Angling with a 30lb 10oz mirror caught Sunday night from Hunts, along with a 27lb 02oz mirror using maggots.

Carp are spawning in all lakes at the moment according to the website.
Thought would let people know incase anyone planning a trip there soon.

Bit of advice i have just read on another site.
Fishing is very hard on Brasenose 1 and 2 recently. Fish are feeding in very short spell and are out at 90 yards plus. Take around half a gallon of live maggots, spod them out at regular intervals and fish maggots on the hair. Get on the back of the wind and be patient as it can take upto 20 hours for the fish to move in on your bait.

Linear is closed for the moment due to the flooding.

Fish are safe its more health and safety reasons but could be at least another week before they re-open. Keep an eye on their website for latest new but its a heads up for anyone planning a trip down there soon.

KORDA UNDERWATER-7 DVD “Unlocking the Day-Ticket Code”.

This brilliant DVD was filmed entirely on Linear’s, St. John Pool where the film crew captured some very unique underwater footage of the lakes stunning residents, including it’s most famous resident, ‘The Big Plated’ – which was hooked and landed at over 44 pounds.

“The mission was simple. Go to the busiest day-ticket complex in the UK and fish St. Johns, one of its most popular lakes, which is steeped in history and full of pressured carp that have seen every trick in the book”.

As you would expect from a Korda Underwater DVD there is extensive underwater footage of carp behaviour which reveals some breathtaking footage of the carp’s response to various rigs and bait, definitely not to be missed.

Opening Dates for Linear Waters.
*Updated 1pm Monday 21st Jan*

The following is a statement from Linear Fisheries regarding the re-opening dates of they're waters. However please be aware that we have very cold weather forecast in the local area for the remainder of the week so please check with the fishery before travelling in case any of the waters mentioned below freeze over. (Check on web-site which will be updated daily or contact Roy Parsons on 07885 327708).

**GUYS SYNDICATE**

LINEAR ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT WITH THE FLOOD WATERS RECEEDING THEY ARE IN A POSITION TO OPEN THE GUY LAKES ON WEDNESDAY 23RD OF JAN.
Please note: a very small number of swims on the lakes may be closed to fishing due to the very boggy conditions – we will open these as soon as possible.

Members with disabled vehicle concessions should avoid driving onto any soft ground for their own safety until all areas are fully dried out. Please stick to the tracks.

Because of the very wet conditions underfoot visitors are urged to be extra careful and please bring the appropriate footwear as the areas around the swims are very soft and will very quickly cut up

Linear can confirm that the measures taken after the summer floods of 2007, to prevent fish loss, have worked well and no fish have been able to pass through the catch fencing barriers or transfer between the three waters.

All at Linear would like to thank their members for their understanding through the recent unavoidable closure and hope they will be rewarded with some excellent fishing at these fantastic waters in the future.

**DAY TICKET WATERS**

LINEAR ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT WITH THE FLOOD WATERS STARTING TO RECEED THEY ARE IN A POSITION TO OPEN THE FOLLOWING WATERS ON FRIDAY 25TH OF JAN:
Brasenose One and Two, (Most of Hardwick Lake &amp; Smiths Pool) and Manor Farm Lake. The following waters, St. Johns, Oxlease and Hunts Corner Lake and Pond will remain closed but we are monitoring them on a daily basis and believe it will only be a short time before all waters are open again (Provisional opening date for remaining waters is Friday 1st Feb).

Please note: a very small number of swims on the lakes we are opening will be closed to fishing due to the very boggy conditions – we will open these as soon as possible.

Because of the very wet conditions underfoot visitors are urged to be extra careful and please bring the appropriate footwear as the areas around the swims are very soft and will very quickly cut up. Please also be reminded not to drive or park, even on the edge of the soft grass, anyone found to be doing so will be asked to leave the site.
