plummet

Bencarp16 helped me out with a previous question about floats, he mentioned using a plummet to find how deep the water was. Whats a plummet? Can the marker float set up I brought show me how deep a lake is ? I thought that was what its for?

Plummets are small weights used to attach to the hook to find the depth when float fishing.

Marker floats are for finding how deep it is at a distance and what the bottom of the lake is i.e. gravel, silt or weed.

thanks gav Im sitting at my pc googling all these new bits and there is quite a bit to learn, I cant wait to get out and try and catch summit.

Its alot to take in but best bet is to ask on here.
Start with the easier things and slowly move on to things more complicated. Best to learn the basics first.
Theres also other plummets that are like a clip you can attach to the line but other ones better.
