Ha
I have a random question, it might sound stupid but could someone please answer.
I have been talking to people on different forum, for help and advice because I am new to fishing, and they have told me I should start with course fishing, and not become a 'dreadful instant carp angler' camping behind three.' Is this true? If so what fish should I start on?

Jack mate if you want to start Carp fishing then you jolly well crack on. Dont start thinking that you have to 'serve an apprenticeship' on smaller silver fish just because the other forum members tell you. If you are genuinely starting fishing then you are going to have a pretty steep learning curve no matter what fish your after.

Stay on this site and ask as many questions as you like, no matter how silly you think they may be. :D

depends where you live Jack. We know youve asked about fishing in Northamptonshire but thats about it. Where you live and how far you can travel will have a big impact on where you should start fishing. Tell us the town you live in and how far you can travel and we will no doubt all chip in with suitable venues. Have you been fishing long? what stuff have you got? Have you been before? lots of questions from us and lots of answers but that is what a fishing forum is all about, this forum is full of midlands based anglers of all abilities so you will defo be getting the answers you seek.

Good replys.

Welcome to the site.
As previously said you dont have to start with smaller species of fish but would start with a heavily stocked commercial or match venue with plenty of smaller carp in there. Thiss will get you used to casting, feeding, playing carp and most important carp care when on the bank. Start with 1 rod before banging out 2 or 3, get used to using one then slowly move up.

Checkbook and pen......again!!!!

Cheers Gav!
And Matt
well i come from boughton, 1 or 2 miles from Moulton and just outside Kingthorpe, i can travel 10 mile max ATM because i just learning to drive. No i don't really have any fishing experience, the only fishing I’ve done is a sea fishing trip on holiday, and it got me interested in fishing. The equipment i have:
• 2 carp rods.
• Several reels.
• Several other robs (coarse, fly, feeder and match rods).
• Several different floats & other little bit.
• Biffy
• Carp chair

I have loads of little bit and bobs =, because i brought some stuff from an old friend and he never really explained to me what everthin is used for.

Welcome to WBM mate. :P
Good site to learn from with a few beginners like your self on here. Looks like you have got a few things to start you off in the world of carp. Would be a good idea to try and get to the social mate, would deffo be shown the ropes and how to bag a fish or 2. ;)
