Fishing in the rain

What a load of tosh the summer has been so far!!!! Booked today off work a few weeks back to use up holiday and thought would use the day for a days fishing. Dont mind fishing even in the cold but i hate the rain!!

Agree with you mate. Go on holiday on my birthday in just over 2 weeks and thinking its gonna be a wash out. Got a festival and a mates wedding in August which im not holding my breath for. <!-- s:cry: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cry.gif" alt="" title="Crying or Very Sad" /><!-- s:cry: -->

Was going to do the night last night but saw the weather forecast for today and was put off by the idea of packing up in torrental rain.

On/off downpours today! Not as many cars in Drayton as there usually is on a saturday in July. Looks set to continue for the month to.
Not just fishing being affected, check the news to see the F1 this weekend at Silverstone. They are turning people away from there!!!

Worst thing for me about this rain is that i was getting into my river fishing this spring and since the glorious 16th June the rivers been flooding everytime i get a chance to fish it. Not a master river angler and tend to avoid flooding rivers as not confident i can get a few bites.

Which river you been hitting gav ?

Only the Itchen and the leam for Chub earlier in the year. Was wanting to do a few days in ~Warwick this summer but the weather has been shocking and river is just about continually flooding.
