Checkbook and pen......again!!!!
Wouldnt say there is a best colour in my honest opinion. Usually only use 2 colours myself. If i tip boilies its with yellow corn because usually have corn or maize in my loosefeed so like to keep it the same colour. Its just personal choice and what i have confidence in really. Other thing i use it for is having 2 on a size 10 hook on a zig. Use red for this and seems to have me a few in the winter month. A easy mouthful for any passing carp in the cold water.

Ive got some orange corn to use when im using diced carrots as a particle in the summer. Honestly. I think the carp get fed up with corn so I use carrot, its still visual and its quite sweet as well.

carrots no way mate. first marmite then carrots <!-- s:shock: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif" alt="" title="Shocked" /><!-- s:shock: --> is there anything that carp wont eat?
so fake corn is not just for tipping boilies then. can it also be used flat on the bottom over a bed of bait? and what size hook would be good for it?

Yeah for margin fishing in the summer stick two bits of fake corn onto a hair and match it with a short mono hooklength tied to a size 8 widegape hook and then scatter a good handfull of corn over the top, or if its difficult fishing then liquidise some sweetcorn and pour it directly over the top of your baited margin spot.

Yes pal it can. I fish it the same in the margins with a single fake grain on the hair to a size 10 curved shank hook and around 20 or so sweetcorn grains scattered around it and maybe a small scattering of hempseed.
Better to use fake corn on the hair the hair than really as i found that real corn comes off the hair easily when you can guarentee it going to be on there for 24 hours if need be.
