Its like Drayton, Clattercote and Boddington reservoirs if you have been to any of them but its smaller with only 63 pegs. Rammed in the summer and lots of matches at weekend. £6 for 1 rod £9 for 2 in the summer and the winter its £5 2 rods and alot of the time you get lake to yourself. Loaded with carp, tench, crucians and chub. Biggest carp in there is apparently 26lb <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt="
" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: --> fished it for 5 years and never seen bigger than 18lb come out so hard to believe. Average carp around 7lb but theres 1000s of them. Pretty much impoosible to blank in the summer unless they spawning. If you want a day of action and a bend in the rod its the place to go but if you after a lump i would try somewhere else pal
I love it and will always fish there especially after a few blanks at other places after a lump cause its good to remember what a carp looks like <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt="

Been talking to our newest member GavP. He says night fishing now allowed on there on the grass bank sides of the lake. Anyone know anything about this and is it true that Brian is buying it back off British Waterways. This is what his son told me last time i was there and he came round for the money. Will have a word with him next time i see him in the pub.

Brian is the Baliff with the beard. He owns the Blue Lias pub and used to own the lake up until around 96/97. From what have been told by anglers down there it was a syndicate back them with no wooden pegs, alot of reed and no islands. Decent old dark warriors in there to. Some got put in the canal there and others got moved somewhere else when BW took it over.
If night fishing now allowed will have to do the odd 24 hour session down there this year. Only problem is amount of bait needed and the lack of sleep likely to happen from runs in the warmer months.

British Waterways have got rid apparently. Now leased by owner of the Blue Lias pub.
Floro pop-ups, single baits is what seems to be having a few out at the moment from what was told in Banks and Burr.
