marker rod line

hey guys,

I know braid is the line to use for a marker due to it having no/minimal stretch.

But would mono still work on a budget setup for now?

Used mono myself and its alright. You can still feel the bottom just no where near the sensitivity of braid.
Florocarbon mainline would be better for the job than mono, if your on a budget its still not too expensive.

Never used braid myself, always mono. Seems alright to me but i dont fish anywhere with uneven jagged bottoms so it does the job for me just to find a hard spot to fish on.
