Rod Licence

How many of you guys have been asked for 1? May go fishing before the end of March but dont want to spend £27 for one days fishing. Is it worth taking the risk?

Also why do we have to buy 1? What does the Enviroment Agency do exactly?

Been asked for one when i was a kid back in 96/97 at Bishops Bowls. Alot of anglers on the lake didnt have one and the 2 people from the Enviroment Agency were taking a torrent of abuse of those that didnt.

Was asked again a few days after was supposed to get a new 1 in 2006. Didnt have the ££££ to pay for fishing and get a new license so decided to risk it. Its only a day i thought. Unfortunatly was the day that the enviroment agency decide to come around Stockton Resse. Got read my rights by them and ended up being fined £120, put on my criminal record and told if caught again will be looking at a £2000 if caught again. Obviously have never took the risk again so my advice would be get a day license if you go fishing before end of March then 1st of April get a new one that will alst the year. Better to have one and not need it than need one and not have it.

i no a lad who fished the cut at the end of our old road he got caught and he landed a 2k fine for it

Which i believe is a bit of a joke. Its enough money for a license let alone buying another 1 when you want to fish 3 rods.

Dont risk it mate get one. Got to buy the full license myself this year and pay £27 now cant get the connession license. £27 alot better than £2000.

Think i will get a day one and not risk it. How much is it and can iget it from the Post Office?

yes Stu you can get one from the post office. Make sure they know exactly what it is your after and dont be surprised if they look at you blankly. Double check that it is a course fishing permit and not a salmon trout jobbie and triple check the dates.
