Cold snap gonna kill it?

The very cold weather moves in from tonight round my area so think its gonna slow down the fishing for the year. 2 pools i fished last winter started fishing slowly once we had a week or so of very cold weather. Im on 2 different venues this year and ones alot deeper (upto 32 foot, bishop bowls) and its got me thinking is it gonna happen on these different venues?
Anyone got any views or experience on this?

Lows of minus7 and snow this week and bearly above freezing in the day.

Think it will do on shallower venues. The water is already very cold but if it only lasts a week to 10 days think there could be one last feeding frenzy before xmas but its getting the timing right to bag a few.

By that you mean the right weather conditions?

If it warms by even a few degrees and the wind changes to a southerly then it might just bring the carp on the feed.
Also worth keeping an eye on the margins, even half a degree change in temp in the shallower water may bring them close in especially if no wind and sunny day.

Been over a week of very cold weather now and looks set to continue until next weekend. Lows of -7c tonight here but happily no more snow.

Have been thinking long and hard about this. Theres been a lid on most lakes for nearly a month now. The water is alot cooler than usual this time of year so think the answer to your question is yes mate. The carps metablisum has slowed right down and with the lack of bait going into lakes and less natural food around then the carp are likely to be in a winter lull.

On a positive though, no lines in the water and leads crashing out are giving the carp a well needed rest after being hammered all year.

Yep! Not a chance of any fishing any time soon.
