The only things i put a bit of glug on is pop-ups fished on chods and zigs to help the Carp find it.
Not saying its a bad idea by any means.
Experiment with a few things and see whats good for you.

thanks for the replies lads. 
going to start by favouring my fruity boilies with a strawberry glug.
would it be a good idea to add a bit some to my groundbait and method mixes to?

had a go this weekend glugging my hookbait fake sweetcorn the night before with a strawberry flavourin. had 6 carp and 13 bream. Thinkin the bream like the fruit flavour lol. got some 10mm strawberry boilies to try on the next session
