Groundbait.... was created by hookpull
does anyone use it, other than method fishing?
I use groundbait sometimes along side the spod/boat mix, sometimes just balled in, had some good catches from it as well....

Yeah
When i was using sweet chilli boilies i was using Dynamite Baits Frenzied Hemp groundbait 50/50 with powdered boilies in sticks. Fished over the top of particles. Done me good
Also get loads of breadcrumbs for nothing from work and i mean LOADS so using it to bulk out the vitalin when pre-baiting. Theory being that the crumbs cloud the water up a bit more and keeps the small fish in the area feeding on the crumbs for longer to hopefully attract the carp.

One of the only perks of being a chef
Breadcrumbs mixed with chappie orginal with a bit of sweetcorn mixed in used to be my little mix when i was a kid. Dry the bread out for a day then blitz in a blender until down to fine crumbs and you have the possibly the worlds cheapest groundbait.

Sorry to steal the thread:oops: but does anyone have any cheap affective groundbait recipes that they use for carp? I can easily dry some bread off and crumb it and is brown bread better than white and why. Thanks.

Bread is easy to use and cheap, havent tried white but cant see why it wouldnt work especially if the waters clear.
Try breadcrumb with a couple of tins of liquidised sweetcorn, a few whole grains thrown in, a few handfuls of small pellets. Not alot of big food bits in there for the carp so they have to search harder for the bigger morsals so keeping them in the swim a bit longer. The liquidised sweetcorn will send a smell through the water for the carp to home in on.

Havent used white for carp but used it when i was a kid on the canal for Roach and Gudgeon and i liquidised it and used breadpunch on a size 22 hook on the whip. Caught me hundreds of pounds of small fish over the years. No reason why same couldnt be done for carp with a bigger hookbait.

Could i use ground vitalin through the breadcrumbs to bulk them out and give the carp something to keep them in my swim longer as it will cloud the water up more <!-- s:?: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_question.gif" alt="

Vitalin is great for using as groundbait either left normal size and balled in (summer) or moulded round a method feeder. I also use it whizzed up in a blender to add to other groundbaits to bulk them out, I will steer clear of white crumb as it is very stogy and will stick like concrete. Blended up vitalin is great when mixed up sloppy and used in a spod over zig rigs. My daughter works in Pets at Home and gets me as much as I ever need, I have two very large bags of it in my shed right now so if anyone wants some then giz a shout.
