Dog Lane Fishery (specimen lake)

The 2 Sturgeon i caught were in the margins to. Biggest i had out in 3 trips was the 15lb 12oz common at the bottom of the home page. Dont believe there is that many big carp in there but the Sturgeon and the Catfish mix it up a bit which may bring me back there for the day this summer.

There's a few big carp including a 30.6 common my mate caught it

Could that be the 30 that he put in the old specimen lake in 2009? Know someone who had it out of that lake at 29lb 15oz. Was a few weeks after it got put in there. Never sure what to believe that comes out of Eddies mouth as he tells me one thing one time i am there then the opposite the next time.

Yes that's the one, when he changed lakes he moved lists of big fish to the new lake

It's a shame it's full of small ones

Yet on the website it says carp to 40lb <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt="" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: --> No mention of its crammed full of carp under 10lb. And all pictures are from the old specimen pool in 2009 none from the new lake.

went up to visit my mates on saturday just gone, one caught 3-4 fish, including a 21.8 mirror which was a nice looking fish, although the the smaller fish he caught seemed a bit battered.

Not a bad carp for up there. Did your other mate blank and was it bivvy city up there?

yea other mate blanked as far as I know, and there was a group of 5 with 2 tents over on the roadside bank, and 1 other guy doing the day so not to busy as it goes, but it is febuary afterall

True will turn into bivvy city up there within a couple of months when Eddie lets on everyone who turns and there ends up being nearly 30 anglers on the lake all weekend.
May take the day trip down there in the spring mid-week just to see if i can do any better or maybe have one of the big sturgeon. <!-- s:idea: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_idea.gif" alt="" title="Idea" /><!-- s:idea: -->

i won't say i'm not gonna fish there again, but it's not my cup of tea really.
