Popped up today for a walk round, getting rammed again already. Carp coming out all over the lake including right up the top end around pegs 26-29. Margins getting warm and seem to be best but 1 lad managing a few using zig rigs and bright pop-ups.

Going up here in a few days for a check fish as its been well over a year since i fished...
Is it still really easy?

Was fishing very badly today from what a couple of anglers told me. When i got up there at about 6pm there was only 3 anglers on the lake. 1 had only had 2 all day on 2 rods and the other i spoke to had landed 3 very small mirrors off peg 42 and said most people fishing had left by 2pm but didnt know what won the match on pegs 1-16.
I struggled to get a take today and saw a lad i know up the Bowls last week who said he blanked one evening not so long ago. <!-- s:shock: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif" alt=":shock:" title="Shocked" /><!-- s:shock: -->

6 Polish lads and 1 girl up there today who were already banned from the water fishing with illegal lines to catch their dinner. Baliff asks if any anglers do see any Eastern Europeans looking like they are fishing for dinner rather than enjoyment to phone the Blue Lias pub and report it to them.

4 of the same Polosh lads and the girl came up again yesterday. Got on the phone immediatly and told Neil one of the baliffs who thanked me for telling me and swiftly came round to throw them off. Please phone the pub immediatly if any Polish or Eastern Europeans come past you when your fishing there.

Also fish are showing signs of spawning soon which is what many anglers where blaming yesterday and sunday for the slow action. Carp crashing around islands quite alot and 1 of the carp i had yesterday was full of spawn so it wont be long.

Stockton Resse is alot quieter this summer compared to last year. Over the last 2 weeks i havent seen more than 8 cars in the car park mid-week. Fishing the margins with the reeds over a big bed of bait is catchnig a few bigger specimens using big lumps of meat or cheese. Just remember not to fish too close to them because of the roots where the reeds used to be.

anyone know how its fishing lately? Was thinking of going up on Friday for the day with a couple of mates.

it sounds like the same people who came to my lakes a few weeks ago they even asked if they could take fish !they were asked to leave straight away.On a different note the mitre is fishing very well at the moment with carl trainer having 20 fish in the last 36hrs the best 20.5oz mirror there has been 6 20s out in the last 5 days with the best common weighing 27 and the biggest mirror 23.05 .the best approach being solid bags of boilies over the clear spots while scattering baits around the area.the best boilies have been pineapple from western baits or the cell with a small orange pop up.
