2013 Catch Results

Back out of Carping today when got to the lake and it looked like the sea the waves were so high. Ended up lure fishing for a few hours at Clattercote and Boddington. Clattercote was unfishable, water at least 6 foot down and i couldnt get my lure out into the deeper water cause of the wind so gave up after half hour. Headed to Boddington with the wind on my back worked a lure through about 20 swims before giving up. Wind so strong on my back it was nearly pushing m in!
Dont mind the cold but getting any kind of shelter today would have been impossible, a brolly would take off and float across the lake, bivvy would take a beating. Will have to wait until next day off for a Carp trip.

Not good Gav was a rough day Yesterday im sure there are still some good days to be had before the end of the year, will be back out next weekend for the carp but maybe a river session for a change.

Fished a mild Drayton yesterday from the sailing club side. Had 9 to 13lb something so a good day with the weather looking good through this week to I may sneak out again Thursday <!-- s:idea: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_idea.gif" alt="" title="Idea" /><!-- s:idea: -->

1st Carp fishing trip in 6 weeks ruined this morning by Otters! yes Otters! Up stockton reservoir behind the blue lias pub. A family of 4 decided that fishing where i was fishing was perfectly acceptable! Didnt even know we had them round here. Needless to say i packed up and went home with a chequebook and pen. Thats not good im planning on doing the night there on Saturday, never seen any around before either I didnt see them a couple of weeks ago lets hope they move on before destroying the fishing completey. Will let you know how I get on!

The area they were in was between the island on the far bank from the car park and the furthest island away from the car park thats adjacent to the boards. Lets hope they do move on but its easy pickings. My blog has just been published on it. See WBM Carp Fishing Blogs section

Thats the exact area the carp have been holding up the last few weeks and I saw them stirring up the silt not good news, the worst part is the huge amounts of fish they consume and can cover a territory of around 10 square miles thats alot of lakes that could be affected. I see they did a survey in 2010 and said we had 10-12 in the area wonder how many there are now. Great blog again shame it had to be reporting on not so great times out on the bank im sure your luck will change. This weekend may be my last session this year and its looking like I may need a B plan to avoid a poor session!

not good news that gav,been spotted at brandon marsh as well,twitters going spare as their been taking young wild fowl.,don't know where this is going to end,looks like a major problem for all fisherys

It the same area they hold up every winter but just don't think they will be feeding too much of they got Otters chasing them. If they are at Brandon Marsh to now then they must be breeding in the area Brandons not that far from Meadowlands Fishery so they could get some trouble off them soon. There could be some bad times for our local fisherys coming.

Well despite the fears of a poor session at Blue Lias I had another great one today 15 carp in around 7 hours biggest 14lb even lost 3, 1 at the net. The good news is no sign of any otters lets hope they dont reappear went for a walk around yesterday and was also no sign despite there not being a single angler on the bank just need to find some time to get back out there but its looking like the New year now!
