Gavfish v Budweed 2011

Now he has joined WBM thought i would document our battle on here. The winner recieves a bottle of sprits from the winner. The challenge is whoever catches the biggest fish when we are fishing together before Xmas eve this year wins. Gutted at the moment because i have so far blanked and he has had a 1lb 8oz chub and foul hooked a tench of the same size on my rod. Lay out the rules now lol. Foul-hooked shouldnt count but should be joint decition if its allowed or not. Good luck to you both should make an interesting read over the year.

sounds like it could be a good read. In match fishing rules any fish that is foul hooked within an inch of the mouth is deemed to be fairly caught as it indicates that the fish has been feeding or intended to feed on your bait.

Went fishing today from 8am until 3.30pm. Budweed fished 10 til 2, at Stockton Resse. Managed a 7lb common on a pink floro-pop up on the chod just before Budweed got there when i cast at a showing fish near an island. Put the net down leaving the carp in the water while i got the un-hooking mat out. When to lift the carp out and my net gave way a tore a hole through which the carp fell. After trying to get the carp back through the net and out the water the hook came out and the common swam off. Im claiming it as it was in the net but Bud is saying i cant, even though he still claims his foul hooked Tench. <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt="" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: --> Didnt get another bite all day and when a bloke walked round the lake about 3pm he said the other 5 anglers had caught roach and 1 had a chub that took his boilie so not bad as this ends my 11 week blank.

Stormed into the lead today with this 13lb 8oz mirror from Stockton Resse. Mouth full of leeches as with other fish a lad called Pete caught today.

Fished 8 until about half 5. Only run i had all day, nothing on the old faithful chod rig. Had it about 1pm at about 50 yards on a hard patch in amoungst some very soft clay. Put 4 or 5 spods out in the morning of sweetcorn, swimstim pellets and chick peas. Followed it in with about another 5 or 6 spods around 12pm then again after the carp. Repeated the process a few times but resulted in no more fish. The lad Pete was fishing back of the 3rd island from peg 51. Spodding boilies out there first thing then he had a few around the same time as me. Another bloke was fishing the methid on peg 8 banked a few small carp and chub on the method feeder. Most of the other 14 anglers blanked, the 2 that didnt managed one. Blaming the hard frost last night for killing it today.

well old big head has taken the lead ,but not for long members just watch this space after wbm social on sunday !

Gavfish ups the ante!!!

After being letdown by Pedro and no call off Medley or Troty it ended up being Bud and myself down Stockton Resse on pegs 62 and 63 from 4.30 tonight until 8.45. It was blowing a gale into our face but it was a SW wind. Fishing over pigeon conditioner infront of peg 61 in the margins with 2 pop-up weston baits pineapple corn on a KD rig and a PVA stick of the same crushed boilies. I managed to land 7. 4lb, 6lb, 7lb, 9lb.

This now ups the anti upto 13lb 13oz as the winning weight.

Bud lost his first 3 runs then landed a 6lb mirror and an 11lb 11oz common.
